A working unit since 2002, The Rodriguez Brothers Band is co-led by pianist/composer Rob and trumpeter/composer Michael. Individually they have worked with icons such as Roy Haynes, Wynton Marsalis, Eddie Palmieri, Quincy Jones, and Harry Connick Jr.— and together they have released a series of well-received records rooted in, but not limited to, Afro-Cuban music and jazz. Their latest record, the 2016 Grammy Award–nominated Impromptu, offers a kinetic, masterfully rendered concept of "Jazz Latin" that incorporates traditional and modern Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, bolero, and jazz flavors. We look forward to hearing what comes next from the RodBros, and tonight’s performance at Dizzy’s Club could offer a tantalizing taste!
